Anyone see the slight of hand? And add to it the fact was that his father was a Lutheran minister; in the same industry.
It is a violation of the separation of Church and State! Congress can make no law respecting religion! And allowing a taxpayer to have free tuition from the Government to a private school is indeed a violation of that Constitutional provision. That Congress make no law concerning religion also means they cannot contribute to them! Now that is just common sense legal interpretation to you and me but might not be to the general public.
